An eerie silence prevailed in Uttar Pradesh with security heightened and almost the entire state is under the seize of security personal.

The vehicular traffic is thin as all the educational institutions have been closed for 3 days and government offices, Banks are closed today being second Saturday.

The police have arrested around 500 people for spreading hatred through social media. Besides 5000 anti-social elements have been booked by the police.

The Indo-Nepal border has been sealed while Ayodhya has turned into a fortress where entry of all vehicles has been banned. People going towards Ayodhya are being thoroughly checked at the barriers set up at all entry points while commandos have been deployed at the bunkers at almost all the crossings of the temple city.


On Saturday morning Ayodhya witnessed a deserted look with most pilgrims left the city last night and just a few people are staying at the Dharamsala and temples.

No one is allowed to go near the Ramjanambhoomi disputed site while only a handful of pilgrims went to offer puja at the Ram Lalla temple, said government spokesman Awanish Awasthi.

Over 150 companies of central forces and PAC have been deployed in Ayodhya to maintain law and order while the central government has rushed 40 additional companies of central forces to UP.

In Lucknow, roads are empty, and shops were closed. People went for the panic purchase of vegetables medicines and petrol last night.

Meanwhile, all the political functions of the Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and press conference of Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav have been canceled
