Fate of dumped BJP allies: Rightwing Twitter showers hate on Mehbooba Mufti

On the morning of June 19, the Bharatiya Janata Party announced that it was pulling out of its nearly four-year alliance government with the People’s Democratic Party in Jammu and Kashmir. On cue, a steady stream of vicious tweets poured out of the rightwing Twitterverse. Many were aimed at Jammu and Kashmir CM Mehbooba Mufti who resigned today, and until this morning an ally of the BJP.

Rightwing trolls on Twitter immediately began demanding that Article 370 be scrapped, called the PDP a ‘Jihadist’ outfit, demanded that all stone pelters be ‘eliminated’. The hatred of BJP fans for the people of the Kashmir Valley was on display all through the day.
