Goa police arrests two men for 'murder' of BJP leader Sonali Phogat

A post-mortem report has mentioned that there were "multiple blunt force injuries" on the BJP leader's body

Goa Police on Thursday arrested two persons Sudhir Sagwan and Sukhwinder Wasi in connection with the death of the BJP leader Sonali Phogat. Deputy Superintendent of Police (Mapusa) Jivba Dalvi said that both the accused have been arrested under the charges of murder.

“Anjuna police have arrested Sudhir Sagwan and Sukhwinder Wasi in connection with the murder,” he said. Both the accused were named by Sonali’s brother, Rinku Dhaka in his complaint filed with Anjuna Police on Wednesday.

Both Sagwan and Wasi had accompanied Phogat when she arrived in Goa on August 22.

The postmortem conducted on the body of Sonali had revealed that there were multiple blunt injuries on her body.
