The main accused Anil Yadav who allegedly raped a 14-month old girl child in SabarKantha, Gujarat has been arrested from Buxar. The rape of the girl child sparked violence against Hindi speaking people in the state. On Friday night, the Gujarat Police, with the help of the local police, arrested him from Lodhas village in Buxar. Buxar DSP Satish Kumar has confirmed the arrest.

According to information, teams of Bihar STF and Gujarat Police conducted the raid and arrested Anil Yadav. The police have taken Anil Yadav to the hospital for medical tests.


Several districts in the northern parts of Gujarat were rocked by violence after this incident in Sabarkantha district on September 28. The attacks on Hindi-speaking migrants, mostly from Bihar and Uttar Pradesh led to the exodus of thousands of migrants from Gujarat.

The family members alleged that Anil Yadav, who lived in the neighborhood, took the girl child with him. The family alleged that Anil murdered the child after the misdeed. Since the incident, the accused Anil was absconding.
