In a shocking incident, a 4th standard student was made to roam around school with a blackened face on December 5, allegedly due to poor score in a test.According to a news report in The Hindu, the nine-year-old girl failed to score minimum eight marks in a 10-marks-English test. Her class teacher subsequently smeared her face and made her go around the school as punishment.

Two days after the incident, her father formally lodged a complaint with the police. News agency ANI quoted the Hisar police as saying, “We received information that a female student's face was blackened at a school. Investigation is underway".

Meanwhile, the girl’s parents told media persons that the punishment given to their daughter was very harsh and humiliating. They want a strict action to be taken against the authorities of the school and the school to be shut.

They have also staged a protest on Tuesday against the school demanding immediate action against the school, ANI reported.
