Expressing concern over the deteriorating healthcare facilities across the state, Haryana Pradesh Congress Committee chief Kumari Selja on Sunday lambasted the BJP-JJP government in power in the state for creating a crisis for the public.

Selja accused the Khattar government of making false claims of strengthening the health system in the last one year. The actual situation on the ground is that people have been forced to run from pillar to post for hospitals, beds, ventilators, oxygen, medicines and necessary healthcare facilities, she said.

Kumari Selja said that the situation has worsened with the Corona infection penetrating a major section of the society and Corona patients were neither getting beds nor ventilators in government-run hospitals across the state.

“There is also a lack of oxygen and essential medicines. The situation can be gauged from the fact that a Corona infected woman died in the absence of a bed in Agroha-based hospital. Despite this, the government is not paying any attention towards strengthening health services,” she added.

Kumari Selja said that a widespread Corona infection has exposed the government's tall claims and misconceptions. The inefficient implementation of Testing, Tracking and Tracing formula has further worsened the situation.

The death toll is also alarming with the last nine days average going to 17 percent daily. In the last 9 days, the number of serious patients has doubled. On Saturday, more than 7500 new cases of corona infection were reported and 34 patients lost their lives, she said.

Selja said that the situation could become even worse if the Haryana government fails to make immediate preparations to deal with the situation. The Union government should also reconsider its priority for vaccination and reduce the vaccination age limit to 25 years, she demanded.
