Indian cricket fans on Saturday woke up to the worst score of Team India against Australia and the consequent victory of Australia by 8 wickets in the first Test match in Adelaide. The Indian cricket team under captain Virat Kohli faced its worst hour of embarrassment while collapsing to its lowest Test score of 36.

Sulking Indian fans once again started blaming Bollywood actor and Captain Kohli’s wife Anushka Sharma for the poor performance of Team India. It was worse and more insensitive than before because this time the actor’s pregnancy was highlighted and blamed on social media by the frustrated netizens.

Some wrote that Virat Kohli wants to go to his wife as soon as possible because she was in labor pains.

Apparently, almost every time Team India performs poorly in cricket, Captain Kohli’s actor wife Anushka Sharma is blamed by the lamenting netizens. Here is a collection of tweets, many of them even criticising people for blaming Aushka:

On the other hand many netizens defended Anushka Sharma and expressed their anger over dragging a player’s wife and blaming her for his bad performance is shameful.

India's earlier lowest score was 42 at the Lord's in 1974 against England, known in Indian cricket parlance as the "Summer of 42". Saturday's total was also the lowest score in the brief history of D/N Tests and the joint fifth lowest overall.
