Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s wife Jashodaben Modi has expressed surprise over Madhya Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel’s statement that PM Modi is unmarried

Jashodaben Modi said in a video, "I am surprised to learn of Anandiben’s statement while talking to the press saying that PM Modi is unmarried. He has himself said while filing his nomination for the 2014 Lok Sabha elections that he is married and mentioned my name in it. "

Jashodaben Modi further said, "Former Chief Minister of Gujarat, Anandiben is an educated woman, and speaking like this about a teacher (Jashodaben) is very inauspicious. Not only that, her conduct has harmed the image of the Prime Minister of India. He is very respected by me. He is my Ram."

Jashodaben Modi made the video statement using her brother Ashok Modi's phone, from her hometown Unjha in North Gujarat. Ashok Modi confirmed that this video is of Jashodaben herself. He said, "When Anandiben's statement came on social media, we did not believe it. But then it came in major newspapers on June 19."

He said, "That's why we decided to answer it. Jashodaben recorded a written statement on our mobile phone."
