Jharkhand poll results: BJP lost most of the seats where Modi-Shah campaigned
Modi-Shah tried to turn Jharkhand polls a referendum on CAA-NRC, but results suggest people have rejected their agenda
In a huge setback to the ruling party and in a clear indication that Modi’s popularity is fast waning, it is worth noticing that BJP lost almost all the seats in Jharkhand where PM Modi and his trusted lieutenant Amit Shah addressed rallies.
According to media reports, Modi and Shah both addressed nine rallies each. In total, both the leaders addressed 18 rallies out of which BJP has either lost or is all set to lose approximately 16 seats.
According to the latest trends/results, BJP has lost six out of nine seats where Modi addressed rallies. Except, Dhanbad, Dalton Ganj and Khunti, BJP lost all six seats in and around Khunti where Modi addressed his first poll rally in Jharkhand.
Similarly, Union Home Minister Amit Shah addressed nine rallies. However, as per the latest trends, BJP lost most of the seats where Shah – known as BJP’s Chanakya – campaigned for the saffron party. Data suggest that Modi and Shah’s rallies were planned in a way that they covered almost 60 seats, but their ‘magic’ failed to attract people, said an analyst.
It is important to note that both Modi and Shah tried their best to polarise Jharkhand polls along religion, Article-370 and Ram Mandir, but people rejected their agenda, the result indicate.
