NGO Reconciliation, Return and Rehabilitation of Migrant Kashmiri Pandits (RRRM) has welcomed Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s statement in which he said that he will do something for Kashmiri Pandits.

“We, the Kashmiri Pandits community, appreciate Rahul Gandhi’s concerns about his own community brethren. Rahul is a Kashmiri Pandit, grandson of Indira Gandhi, whom the community admired and wholeheartedly always voted for in Kashmir. His reinforcing his Kashmiri Pandit identity has given a new energy to the beleaguered community,” it said.

“It is pertinent to mention here that all the welfare schemes which the refugee Kashmiri Pandits community are benefitting from today had been initiated and set up during the UPA rule at the Centre. In fact, Shri Manmohan Singh is the only Prime Minister who visited migrant camps in Jammu,” it said.

“The early nineties was a very bad phase for the community, J&K and the country. Kashmiri Pandits have suffered greatly and we hope that Rahul Gandhi takes the cause of the Kashmiri Pandits and the

Kashmiris overall to help bring peace and harmony in the valley,” it added.
