#MeToo: Woman journalist supports fellow scribe's accusations against M J Akbar in Delhi court
A woman journalist alleged in a Delhi court on Tuesday that former Union Minister M J Akbar sexually harassed her in 1997 while she was working in a newspaper being edited by him.
The woman made the submissions in her deposition before the court as a witness appearing in support of scribe Priya Ramani in a criminal defamation complaint filed against her by Akbar.
Akbar, who resigned as Union minister on October 17 last year, filed a private criminal defamation complaint against Ramani after his name cropped up on social media as the #MeToo campaign raged on in India.
Mobile internet, SMS services suspended in Tripura amid news of ethnic clashes
The Tripura government has suspended mobile internet and SMS services in the state for 48 hours after state police found that rumours were being spread about ethnic clashes between tribals and non-tribals in Manu Kanchanpur area.

Delhi HC dismisses PIL for judicial inquiry, CBI probe into Anaj Mandi fire
The Delhi High Court on Tuesday declined to entertain a PIL seeking a judicial inquiry and a probe by the CBI or any other independent agency into the Anaj Mandi fire near Filmistan here which claimed 43 lives.
A bench of Chief Justice D N Patel and Justice C Hari Shankar said the fire occurred on December 8 and it was too early for the court to interfere as the authorities were dealing with it and also deliberating on preventing such incidents in future.
