Fake sanitiser unit busted in Agra, 2 held
A fake sanitiser manufacturing unit was busted here and two people running it were arrested, police said on Tuesday.
A joint team of COVID anti-black marketing squad and SWAT team raided the factory in Katra Wazir Khan area of the Itmad-ud-Daulah locality and seized 2,500 litres of fake sanitiser, they said.
Police also confiscated cleaning products like hand wash, toilet cleaner, dish wash, glass cleaner and floor cleaner from the factory.
Agra Superintendent of Police (SP) Botre Rohan Pramod said a complaint regarding the factory was received on the helpline number generated to control the black marketing of the COVID drugs, oxygen cylinders and other items
Gold declines Rs 212; silver tumbles Rs 973
Gold in the national capital on Tuesday declined by Rs 212 to Rs 47,308 per 10 gram with a decline in global precious metal prices, according to HDFC Securities.
In the previous trade, the precious metal had closed at Rs 47,520 per 10 gram.
Silver also tumbled Rs 973 to Rs 70,646 per kilogram from Rs 71,619 per kilogram in the previous trade.

29 new COVID cases at IIT Jodhpur
As many as 29, including 25 students, were tested positive for COVID-19 at IIT Jodhpur, taking the total number of coronavirus cases reported at the campus to 225, authorities said.
The report for the new 29 cases at the institute came out on Monday after a massive campaign was put in place to test every campus resident, said Amardeep Sharma, Spokesperson and Deputy Registrar of the institute.
"These 29 students and staff members have been reported positive after the fresh sample tests conducted on May 7," he added.
He said the last semester of the trimester ended on May 7 and the activities were now taking place online as the courses have been completed.

3 die in cracker factory explosion in MP
At least three people were killed while two others were reportedly injured following an explosion in an alleged fire cracker factory operating from a house in Madhya Pradesh's Harda district.
The deceased victims include three women belonging to one family. As per information received, a sudden explosion occurred on Monday morning in one Lokesh Beldar's house located in front of the government Industrial Training Institute near Bairagarh area under Civil Line police station area.
The house caught fire following the explosion. The police have registered a case and started investigation into the matter.

Encounter breaks out between militants, security forces in J&K's Anantnag
An encounter broke out between militants and security forces in Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday, police said.
Security forces launched a cordon and search operation at Vailoo in Komernag area of the district early Tuesday following information about presence of militants there, a police official said.
The official said the search operation turned into an encounter after militants opened fire at the security forces.
There are no reports of any casualties so far, he said.
