Witnesses say explosion targets Taliban, 2nd in as many days
Witnesses say an explosion targeted a Taliban vehicle in the provincial city of Jalalabad, the second such deadly blast in as many days in an Islamic State stronghold.
The Taliban and IS extremists are enemies, and fought each other even before the Taliban seized control of Afghanistan last month.
Witnesses say Sunday's blast targeted a vehicle of the border police, which is now run by the Taliban. Initial reports said five people were killed, including two civilians, among them a child. The Taliban were not immediately available for comment about possible casualties among their ranks.
Couple injured in gas leakage fire in J&K's Pampore
A couple suffered severe burn injuries on Sunday due to a gas leakage fire in Jammu and Kashmir's Pampore town.
The police said cooking gas leakage caused a fire in the kitchen of Mehrajuddin Bhat in Pampore town.
"Bhat and his wife suffered burn injuries before the fire in their kitchen caused by cooking gas leakage could be put out.
"The couple has been shifted to hospital for treatment", police said.

Mild tremor in Gujarat's Kutch, no casualty
A tremor of 3.1 magnitude hit Gujarat's Kutch district on Sunday, but there was report of any casualty or property loss, officials said.
The tremor was recorded at 8.38 am, with its epicentre 26 km North-North East (NNE) of Dudhai, at a depth of 9.3 km, the Gandhinagar-based Institute of Seismological Research (ISR) said in its update.
There was no report of any casualty or damage to property, officials of the Kutch district disaster management unit said.
Kutch, located in a 'very high seismic zone', over 300 km from Ahmedabad, witnesses mild tremors regularly.
Hope Amarinder Singh will not take any step which may harm Congress: Ashok Gehlot
Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Sunday expressed hope that senior Congress leader captain Amarinder Singh would take no step which may harm the party.
He, in a statement posted on Twitter, said the Congress high command has taken the decision in the interest of the party on the basis of the feedback received from MLAs and the public.
"Captain Saheb is a respected leader of the party and I hope that he will continue to work while keeping the interest of the party ahead," Gehlot tweeted.
Singh resigned as the Punjab chief minister on Saturday after an internal tussle with the MLAs.
