Haryana govt extends coronavirus lockdown till May 31
The Haryana government on Sunday extended the coronavirus lockdown till May 31, according to an order issued.
State Chief Secretary Vijai Vardhan in the order said the lockdown, which was earlier imposed till May 24, has been extended by a week till 5 am on May 31.
In a bid to contain the coronavirus spread, the state government had first imposed the lockdown on May 3, which was extended every week since then.
The Haryana government has termed the lockdown as "Mahamari Alert/Surkshit Haryana (Epidemic Alert/Safe Haryana)".
The state has so far reported 7,33,628 infection cases, including 7,415 deaths.

Navi Mumbai: Bus catches fire, all passengers safe
A bus caught fire on Sunday near Vashi bridge in Navi Mumbai but there were no reports of injury to any of the dozen passengers in it, an official said.
The bus, which was gutted in the incident, was on its way from Borivali in Mumbai's northern end to Banda in the state's Konkan region, he said.
"Local firemen put out the blaze. No one was injured in the incident. The driver smelt smoke and saw diesel leaking, after which he alerted the passengers who got off in time as the bus burst into flames," he added.

Severe weather kills 21 cross-country runners in China
Twenty-one people were killed in northwest China as extreme weather struck participants in a 100-km cross-country mountain marathon race, officials said on Sunday.
High winds and freezing rain hit participants in the race in the Yellow River Stone Forest, a tourist site in Gansu province, the state-run Xinhua news agency reported.
A total of 172 people took part in the mountain marathon.
As of 9.30 Sunday morning, the death toll rose to 21, the official media reported.
