Delhi Police gets cracking: Seizes 2,793 kg firecrackers, arrests 30
The Delhi Police has arrested 30 persons on charge of selling firecrackers and seized 2,793 kg firecrackers during its drive against the sale and bursting of crackers ahead of Diwali, official sources said on Wednesday.
Also, 10 cases were registered regarding bursting of firecrackers and two persons arrested in this regard.
Delhi Police has set up flying squads at district level to check sale by licensed or unlicensed sellers. The SHOs have also formed special teams to prevent bursting of firecrackers before, during, and after Diwali.
The beat staff would ensure that no bursting of firecrackers took place in their respective areas.

Russia recorded 19,851 fresh COVID-19 cases over the past 24 hours, ending the five-day streak of new cases topping 20,000, the country's Covid-19 response centre said on Wednesday.
