Bhuvan Bam tests positive for coronavirus

YouTube sensation Bhuvan Bam on Sunday announced on his Instagram Stories that he has tested COVID19 positive.

"Beetey kuch dino se tabiyat kharab chal rahi hai (I have been feeling unwell for a while). Tests results have come and I am COVID-19 positive," Bhuvan wrote.

He also urged people to take proper precautions.

No new COVID-19 cases in Aus for 1st time in 5 months

There were no new coronavirus cases in Australia on Sunday for the first time in five months, according to health authorities.

The authorities said that zero cases were reported in the 24 hours between 8 p.m. on Friday and 8 p.m. on Saturday, the first time since June 9, the BBC reported.

Also, there were no new infections for a second consecutive day in the worst-hit state of Victoria, which accounts for 20,346 cases of the country's overall tally of 27,590.

Petrol, diesel prices unchanged as crude remains subdued

Prices of petrol and diesel continued to remain unchanged on Sunday on the back of weak crude oil prices. In the national capital, petrol was sold for Rs 81.06 per litre.

Prices in the other key cities of Mumbai, Chennai and Kolkata were Rs 87.74, Rs 84.14, Rs 82.59 per litre, respectively.

Prices of both petrol and diesel have been unchanged for over a month now. Diesel prices in Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai and Kolkata on Sunday were at Rs 70.46, Rs 76.86, Rs 75.95 and Rs 73.99 per litre, respectively.

TN Agriculture Minister Doraikkannu dies of COVID-19

Tamil Nadu Agriculture Minister R. Doraikkannu, a COVID-19 patient, passed away on Saturday late night, said a senior official of Kauvery Hospital.

"With deep grief, we announce the sad demise of the Honourable Minister for Agriculture, Thiru R.Doraikkannu on 31.10.2020 at 11.15 p.m.," said Aravindan Selvaraj, Executive Director in a statement issued here.

Earlier on Saturday, Selvaraj had said Doraikkannu had suffered significant deterioration in vital functions and is extremely critical despite being on maximal life support.

Global COVID-19 cases nearing 46 million, says Johns Hopkins

The overall number of global coronavirus cases was nearing the 46 million mark, while the deaths have surged to almost 1,193,860, according to the Johns Hopkins University.

As of Sunday morning, the total caseload and death toll stood at 45,960,780 and 1,193,859, respectively, the University's Center for Systems Science and Engineering (CSSE) revealed in its latest update.

The US is the worst-hit country with the world's highest number of cases and deaths at 9,116,186 and 230,345, respectively, according to the CSSE.

India comes in second place in terms of cases at 8,137,119, while the country's death toll soared to 121,641.
