Taking to Twitter, RBI Governor, Shaktikanta Das wrote: "RBI Twitter account reaches one million followers today. A new milestone. Congratulations to all my colleagues in RBI."

Three including a Maoist commander gunned down in Gaya
Three persons including a zonal commander gunned down in Maoist affected Barachatti area in Gaya district early on Sunday morning.
The Maoist Zonal commander is identified as Alok Yadav alias Gulshan. Beside him, two villagers including a brother in law of village head of Dewariya village also died in this incident.
Rajesh Kumar Singh, Additional SP (Operation) of Gaya police confirms the incident. He said that the Alok Yadav was killed in retaliatory firing of CRPF Cobra team.

Sonam Lotus, Director, Meteorological department for Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh UTs told IANS, "The minimum temperature was minus 3.0 degrees Celsius today in Srinagar, which is the coldest recorded so far this season. It is minus 3.1 degrees below normal."
37 policemen to face action in Bikru case
The Uttar Pradesh Home Department has asked the Additional Director General of Police of Kanpur to take action against 37 policemen for their alleged links with slain gangster Vikas Dubey or dereliction of duty.
Action was recommended by a three-member Special Investigation Team (SIT) that probed the role of the police in the Bikru massacre that left eight policemen dead on July 3 in an ambush by gangster Vikas Dubey and his aides. The police team had gone to the Bikru village to arrest Dubey.

3 cousins held for triple murder in UP
Three persons have been arrested in connection with the murder of a police constable, his mother and sister in the Chamraudi area in Banda district.
The accused are cousins of the victims.
Banda Superintendent of Police (SP) S.S. Meena said the incident took place around midnight on Friday and the victims were brutally attacked with axes, sticks and batons.

Woman teacher shot dead by colleague at UP school
A 35-year-old woman teacher in a government primary school was shot dead by one of her male colleagues in the school premises.
The woman died while being taken to the hospital.
According to Sitapur Superintendent of Police (SP) R.P. Singh, the incident took place on Saturday afternoon and Aradhana Roy, an assistant teacher, was shot twice by her male colleague, Amit Kaushal.

US COVID-19 cases top 12 million
In yet another grim milestone, the total number of confirmed coronavirus cases in the US has topped the 12 million mark, according to the Johns Hopkins University.
In its latest update on Sunday, the University's Center for Systems Science and Engineering (CSSE) revealed that the country's current caseload and death toll stood at 12,079,296 and 255,804, respectively.
Texas reported the country's most cases, standing at 1,117,583, followed by California with 1,098,061 and Florida with 923,418, reports Xinhua news agency.

The overall number of global coronavirus cases has surpassed the 58 million mark, while the deaths have surged to more than 1.37 million, according to the Johns Hopkins University.
