Delhi police head constable succumbs to coronavirus
A Delhi police head constable has died due to COVID-19 at a city hospital, officials said on Saturday.
The head constable Leela Dhar was posted at Defence colony police station. He was admitted to the hospital on July 11 after reporting mild fever.
Later, he was shifted to ICU on July 19 and was given plasma therapy, after being tested positive for coronavirus.
On Friday, he succumbed to the deadly virus.

Man held for raping 15-yr-old girl in UP's Muzaffarnagar
Police have arrested one of the three men accused of raping a 15-year-old girl here, an official said on Saturday.
According to an FIR registered in the case, the accused abducted the minor on Thursday when she had gone out of her house to throw garbage in the village dump yard.
They allegedly took the girl to a sugarcane field and took turns to rape her, SHO of Bhopa police station Sanjeev Kumar said, adding that one of the three men had also recorded a video of the incident.
Mexico's COVID-19 death toll now world's 3rd highest
With a total of 46,688 fatalities, Mexico now accounts for the world's third highest number of coronavirus fatalities in the world, according to the Johns Hopkins University.
Previously the UK had the third highest toll, and registered 46,204 deaths as of Saturday, the University revealed in its latest update.
The US currently accounts for the world's highest number of COVID-19 cases and deaths at 4,562,170 and 153,314.

2 aircraft collide in Alaska, Republican legislator killed
Two aircraft collided midair on the Kenai Peninsula in Alaska, which led to the death of a state Republican Representative.
The accident took place on Friday near the Soldotna Airport, reports Xinhua news agency.
One of the aircraft involved in the crash about two miles northeast of the airport was a single-engine de Havilland DHC-2 Beaver, according to a statement from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
Global COVID-19 cases top 17.5 million: Johns Hopkins
The overall number of global coronavirus cases has topped 17.5 million, while the deaths have increased to more than 678,000, according to the Johns Hopkins University.
As of Saturday morning, the total number of cases stood at 17,516,264 and the fatalities rose to 678,226, the University's Center for Systems Science and Engineering (CSSE) revealed in its latest update.
The US accounted for the world's highest number of infections and fatalities at 4,559,008 and 153,311, respectively, according to the CSSE.
Brazil came in the second place with 2,662,485 infections and 92,475 deaths.
In terms of cases, India ranks third (1,638,827), and is followed by Russia (838,461), South Africa (493,183), Mexico (424,637), Peru (407,492), Chile (355,667), the UK (304,793), Iran (304,204), Spain (288,522), Colombia (286,018), Pakistan (278,305), Saudi Arabia (275,905), Italy (247,537), Bangladesh (237,661), Turkey (230,873), France (225,196), Germany (210,399), Argentina (191,302), Iraq (124,609), Canada (118,265), Qatar (110,695) and Indonesia (108,376), the CSSE figures showed.
The other countries with over 10,000 deaths are the Mexico (46,688), UK (46,204), India (35,745), Italy (35,141), France (30,268), Spain (28,445), Peru (19,021), Iran (16,766) and Russia (13,939).
