Delhi riots: Court dismisses suspended AAP Councillor Tahir Hussain's bail plea
A Delhi court on Saturday denied bail to suspended AAP Councillor Tahir Hussain in a case related to communal violence that took place during protests against the Citizenship Amendment Act in northeast Delhi in February.
Additional Sessions Judge Tyagita Singh rejected Hussain's bail plea on the grounds that the investigation is at an initial stage at present and his custody was required for it.
Hussain had stated in his bail plea, filed through advocate Javed Ali, that the main accused in the case, Gulfam, was already in police custody, and Hussain was not named in the FIR as an accused.

Yellow warning for thunderstorm, lightning in Himachal
The meteorological department on Saturday issued a yellow weather warning for thunderstorm accompanied with lightning, hailstorm and gusty winds for plains, low and middle hills in Himachal Pradesh till May 6.
The department issues colour-coded warnings to alert the public ahead of severe or hazardous weather which has the potential to cause "damage, widespread disruption and/or danger to life".
Yellow is the least dangerous among the warnings.

Man stabbed to death in UP's Shamli
A 26-year-old man was allegedly stabbed to death over some dispute by his relative at Uttar Pradesh's Shamli district, police said on Saturday.
According to the FIR, the incident took place on Friday evening in Shamli's Khanpur village, where the victim Satyapal was confronted by his relative Johari Singh over a minor dispute.
Circle Officer Pradeep Singh said Johri Singh has been arrested and the body sent for a post-mortem.

Encounter breaks out between security forces and militants in J-K's Pulwama
An encounter broke out between security forces and militants in Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday, police said.
Security forces launched a cordon and search operation in the Dangerpora area of the south Kashmir district in the early hours of Saturday following information about the presence of militants there, a police official said.
He said as the forces were conducting searches in the area, the hiding militants fired upon them.
The forces retaliated, ensuing an encounter, the official said.
The exchange of firing was going on and further details are awaited, he added.
