Six more corona deaths in Gurugram

Six more coronavirus patients succumbed in Gurugram on Monday, taking the total death toll to 90 in the Haryana district.

Besides, health officials also detected 102 more coronavirus cases on Monday. A total of 135 patients were discharged on Monday.

Only 2 deaths were reportd on Saturday and Sunday. According to a district official, 86 of the total deaths in Gurugram were reported in the last 29 days.

Gurugram has so far reported 5,260 coronavirus cases, of which 3,882 have recuparated. As many 828 persons are in home quarantine and the remaining patients in hospitals.

Telangana Home Minister tests positive for COVID-19

Telangana Home Minister Mohammed Mahmood Ali has tested positive for COVID-19.

He was admitted to a private hospital in Hyderabad on Sunday night. Health officials described his condition as stable.

Ali had participated in Haritha Haram, a plantation programme, with top police officials on June 25.

He is the first minister to be found infected by Coronavirus.

So far three members of State Legislative Assembly, all belonging to the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS), have tested positive.

J&K's Doda district becomes militancy free: DGP

With the killing of Hizbul Mujahideen terrorist Masood in an encounter in South Kashmir, the Doda district has become militancy free, police said on Monday.

In a joint operation in the Khulchohar area of Anantnag district by the police and the Army on Monday, a total of three terrorists was killed. These included two Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorists, including one district commander, and one Hizbul Mujahideen commander of the name Masood.

"Doda district in Jammu Zone becomes totally militancy free once again as Masood was a last surviving terrorist of the Doda District," Director General of Jammu and Kashmir Police Dilbag Singh said.

Three terrorists killed in Kashmir encounter

Three terrorists were killed in an encounter with security forces at Khulchohar in South Kashmir's Anantnag district Monday morning.

Arms and ammunition including an AK 47 rifle and two pistols were recovered from the slain terrorists.

"Three terrorists eliminated in the ensuing gunfight. One AK 47 rifle and two pistols were recovered. Joint operation is in progress," Army said in a brief statement.

According to details, army and police had launched a Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) on the basis of a specific information about the presence of terrorists. As the cordon was tightened the hiding terrorists fired at the security forces which triggered the encounter.

"Three unidentified terrorists have been killed. We are ascertaining the identities while the search is on. Further details shall follow," police said in a statement.
