The victim was a 44-year-old Chinese male from the city of Wuhan, the epicentre of the outbreak, who came to the Philippines via Hong Kong on January 21, Xinhua news agency quoted Health Secretary Francisco Duque as saying.
China bans funerals for coronavirus victims
China on Sunday banned funerals, burials and farewell ceremonies for the victims of the novel coronavirus in an effort to control the outbreak as the death toll rose to 304 in the country.
The bodies should be cremated at designated funeral homes near their location, they cannot be transported between regions and cannot be preserved by burial or other means, said the trial guidelines issued by the National Health Commission, the Ministry of Civil Affairs and the Ministry of Public Security.
Funeral traditions such as farewell ceremonies are prohibited and bodies must be disinfected and placed by medical workers into a sealed bag, which thereafter cannot be opened, reports Efe news.
2 CRPF troopers among 4 injured in Srinagar grenade attack
Two Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel and two civilians sustained injuries after terrorists lobbed grenade upon the paramilitary force near Pratap park in Lal Chowk area on Sunday afternoon.
The grenade was lobbed by unidentified terrorists upon the CRPF's 171 Battalion around 12.45 pm.
"All injured have been evacuated and shifted to nearby hospital," the CRPF told IANS.

8 Bangladeshi evacuees from Wuhan hospitalised in Dhaka

328 patients recovered from coronavirus discharged in China
A total of 328 patients infected with the novel coronavirus had been discharged from hospital after recovery by the end of Saturday, Chinese health authorities announced on Sunday.
Saturday saw 85 people walk out of the hospital after recovery (49 in Hubei), the National Health Commission (NHC) said in its daily report, Xinhua news agency reported.
By the end of Saturday, a total of 304 people had died of the disease and 14,380 confirmed cases of novel coronavirus infection had been reported in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps in China.
