United India rally concludes with the slogan “Badal do, badal do, Dilli mein sarkar badal do” 

"I will not allow communal violence in the name of Rath Yatra. We will not allow BJP to run amok in Bengal. BJP will be wiped out from state to state. No acche din under the Modi government. People have made up their mind to oust the BJP government. Our country does not believe in the politics of divide and rule," says Mamata Banerjee.

“Modi asks who is going to be our leader. We have several leaders - everybody is a leader, everyone is an organiser in our alliance. We are holding a meeting here, am sure all the 'agencies' are holding a meeting in Delhi,” said Mamata Banerjee.

“The Modi government tends to take the credit for the works done by the state government. The state government is not being allowed to work under this government. The weather changes, everything changes, then why can't this Modi government change? Modi government targeting the opposition is simply an act of vendetta. Everyone has to come together. Heralding a change with the United India rally, former UP CM Akhilesh Yadav said: “With this new year, there will hopefully be a new PM.”

Further alleging that the government was in an alliance with institutions, Yadav said: “You have formed an alliance with institutions like CBI and ED. We have made an alliance with the people.”

He also congratulated the leaders present on the dais for ‘working to save the constitution and democracy.”

Former CM of Arunachal Pradesh Gegong Apang said, “The people in Delhi have divided the country, especially the north-east.” He alleged that the democracy was at its worst, taking the example of the CBI crisis.

Former CM of Arunachal Pradesh had recently quit the BJP, alleging that the party had become a ‘platform to seek power.’

“All opposition parties are against hate politics. The manner in which the country is running is dangerous for the nation. I want to thank Mamata di for taking the initiative to organise this meeting,” says Hemant Soren.

"The country is passing through an unprecedented crisis. All parties have to come together to defeat BJP and RSS," says Jignesh Mewani, MLA from Gujarat.

He also expressed hope that when the 'Mahagathbandhan' forms government at the Centre, it will ensure the upholding of the Constitution, and the country will become a true socialist republic.

Patidar leader Hardik Patel while addressing the crowd said, "This meeting is to save the Constitution of India. Together we can save this country. Subhas Chandra Bose had given slogan to fight against 'goro' (Britishers), we are fighting against 'choro' (thieves) "

Large crowds of people have begun to gather ahead of the United Rally at Kolkata’s Brigade grounds.

Trinamool Congress chief and West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee has arrived at Kolkata's Brigade Parade Ground where she is holding a mega rally with leaders of the various opposition parties from across the country joining in.

More than 20 national leaders, including former prime minister H D Deve Gowda, his son and Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, Sharad Pawar, Farooq Abdullah, Sharad Yadav, Akhilesh Yadav, Tejashwi Yadav, Hemant Soren and former Arunachal Pradesh chief minister Gegong Apang, reached Kolkata on Friday to take part in the rally.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is also expected to be in attendance. Although Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) president Mayawati will not attend the rally, senior party leader Satish Chandra Mishra will be present on her behalf.

The stage is all set for West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's mega Opposition rally against the Narendra Modi government in Kolkata on Saturday.

Leaders of all the opposition parties except the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) and the CPI(M)-led Left Front will be taking part in the rally. Earlier, the Trinamool Congress (TMC) had said that this rally will sound the "death knell" for the BJP in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.
