Massive fire breaks out in car parking in Chennai, over 174 cars gutted
Over 300 cars were burnt down on Sunday, Feburary 24 after a fire broke out at a private parking lot on the outskirts of Chennai.

Over 174 cars were burnt down on Sunday, Feburary 24 after a fire broke out at the parking area on the outskirts of Chennai. The fire broke out near the Sri Ramachandra Medical College around 2 pm. Ten fire tenders were sent in to extinguish the fire.
According to a report in NDTV, A fire service official said, "These cars were parked by a private company over the last one year. Some are new cars. The fire has been extinguished but smoke is still coming."
The cause of this fire is still to be ascertained and the extent of damage is yet to be assessed. The fire was so strong that almost an hour later, the fire is yet to be doused by fire safety team.
This incident comes just a day after a similar fire gutted around 300 cars near the Bengaluru Aero India show venue.
