Omar Abdullah’s National Conference has filed a petition in the Supreme Court against the Modi government’s move to scrap Jammu and Kashmir's special status and bifurcate the state into two union territories.
In the plea, former chief minister Omar Abdullah's party claimed that the govt’s move is "illegal".
Omar Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti and over 400 political leaders are under arrest as thousands of troops have been posted across Jammu and Kashmir to prevent any trouble.
The petition has been filed by National Conference MPs Akbar Lone and Hasnain Masoodi.
