Haryana has gone off track with no development and has become infamous for scams and scandals during the BJP-led Khattar government in the past, alleged former Haryana Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition Bhupinder Singh Hooda while talking to media persons in Chandigarh on Tuesday.

He said the government talks about the past when questions are asked about the present and it does not have any vision for the future of Haryana.

Taking a dig at the Khattar government, Hooda claimed that Haryana which once used to be the number one state in the country in growth and development, has now become infamous for its scams and rising crime graph.

“There is a multi-crore rice scam in the state which follows a long list of scams in paddy procurement, liquor, mining, recruitment, paper leaks, scholarships, electricity meters and drug purchases besides Illegal mining from Yamuna to Aravali. It looks like the BJP-JJP alliance is running a government of scams, not the state. The state government is neither conducting any investigation to identify culprits nor is it taking any action against anyone,” he alleged.

“While the whole world is suffering from Corona and China, Haryana is hit hard by crime, corruption and casteism,” Hooda quipped.

He added, “Chief Minister Khattar starts talking about the past when asked questions about the present. This is because his government has achieved nothing in the last six years and no vision for the future.

He said the government has failed to provide any relief to any section of society, despite massive hike in taxes, collecting corona funds from public and taking huge loans. Farmers, laborers, traders and employees were looking at the government for relief but to no avail,” he said.

He also criticised the state government for freezing DA for government employees, adding that the BJP government is anti-farmer and employee and that is why PTIs were sacked. “The government should have found a way to save their jobs as the Congress did when 1800 policemen, hired during the INLD government and were later sacked but we made them jail wardens. Similarly, despite a scam in the recruitment of 3,206 JBT teachers during the INLD government, they were not fired as we believed that the government must create jobs, not drag them to roads,” claimed Hooda.

Hooda alleged the BJP-JJP coalition government has been misleading youth by saying there will be 75 per cent reservation in jobs to the state residents. He termed it as “old wine in a new bottle” saying that the provision was in force since 2011 in Haryana and the government now says the announcement would only apply to new industries. “We want to ask the government why this was not enforced in the last six years?” he said.
