A few months back IP Singh was the face of the BJP defending Narendra Modi and Yogi Adityanath government’s decisions, forcefully in TV debates but now he stands disillusioned.

He now knows Modi’s much hyped Gujarat Model is nothing but a fabrication of lies and his talks of development is nothing more than a myth and therefore has taken a pledge not to allow two Gujjus enter Hindi heartland.

“Earlier, I used to propagate the policies of BJP and Narendra Modi. Now, I will go to the people and reveal to them what big liars these two Gujjus (Modi and Shah) are and how they have cheated the people of this state,” he said.

In a no-hold bar interview to NH he said these two Gujjus are selfish and put the prospect of BJP at stake just to fulfill their own personal gains.

“Look at the campaign of the BJP. It says Modi hai to Mumkin hai where as it should have been BJP hai to mumkin hai. Modi and Shah have used the campaign to promote their own brand. They are the biggest thugs of Indian politics who have sold dreams to the poor by spreading falsehood,” Singh told this reporter on Tuesday morning.

His vitriol did not end here. “Look the way these leaders spread lies about Gujarat. I have been to Gujarat. The model of success they propagated is nothing but a marketing skill. In fact their Gujarat project is a big failure and now they are trying to introduce it in Hindi heartland,” he said.

Singh was expelled from the BJP for six years for participating in allegedly anti-party activities when he raised the banner of revolt against the BJP leadership. He praised the policies of Samajwadi Party national president Akhilesh Yadav and even offered his own residence in Azamgarh to Yadav to open his election office there after SP leader declared that he would be contesting election from there.

“I am not amused at party leadership’s decision. I knew this is coming because I am speaking the truth and this party does not need loyal leaders. Look what has happened to Advani ji and Murli Manohar Joshi ji. They were the pillars of the BJP who built the party brick by brick. Now they have been thrown into the lumber room because they do not fit into the scheme of things for Modi and Amit Shah,” Singh said.

This is the second time disciplinary action has being taken against Singh. Earlier in 2012 he was suspended for opposing the joining of NRHM scam tainted Babu Ram Kushwaha in the party. But he was taken back in the party fold after a furore was raised over the inclusion.

“Was I wrong that time? No, I was not, therefore I was taken back in the party. I had learnt the basics of politics from Atal Bihari Vajpayee ji and actively took part in Advani’s Rath Yatra. These leaders taught me to call spade a spade. But time has changed now. Today’s BJP is controlled by people like Modi and Shah who give preference to sycophants. For them party is just the medium to harness their self respect,” he said.

Singh did not disclose whether he would be joining Samajwadi Party because recently he had praised Akhilesh Yadav for his decision to contest Lok Sabha election from Azamgarh. “I am not sure about joining SP. But I think that Modi only talked about development but it was Akhilesh who carried out development in a true sense,” he said.
