Leaders from across political spectrum on Monday came together to commemorate the 101st birth anniversary of former Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.

Earlier in the day, United Progressive Alliance (UPA) chairperson Sonia Gandhi, former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Congress President Rahul Gandhi, among others, were in attendance at an art exhibition“Living in harmony: Expression through Art” at the Indira Gandhi Memorial Trust.

Later, leaders from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), including LK Advani and Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh, were seen at Parliament House along with Congress leaders at another commemorative event for the former Prime Minister.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi was absent on this occasion. As per his Twitter feed, was busy inaugurating infrastructure projects in neighbouring Haryana and party president Amit Shah was busy campaigning in Madhya Pradesh.

While Modi did tweet out a tributary message in memory of the former Indian Prime Minister, BJP President’s Twitter feed didn’t have a word on Indira Gandhi at the time of publishing this report.
