Continuing her attack on the Yogi Adityanath-led UP government for the second consecutive day, Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi asked it to issue a clarification over the manipulation of data and deaths of the 28 COVID-19 patients in Agra.

Alleging that the fatality rate is higher in Agra than Delhi and Mumbai, Priyanka reiterated that 35 per cent of the 79 people who were admitted in a hospital in the city died within 48 hours of admission.

“Who is responsible for spreading lies about the Agra model?” asked Piyanka in a tweet, adding, “CM should issue a clarification within 48 hours and ensure transparency over the number of the COVID-19 patients.”

Priyanka also shared a letter issued by the CM’s office wherein it can be read that CM Yogi Adityanath has expressed his displeasure over the wrong feeding of the data.

Referring to a report published by NBT, Priyanka, on Monday, had alleged that the Yogi government tried to “bury the truth by propagating this model”.

“Questions were raised on government’s no test = no corona policy but the government did not answer. If the UP government continues to act carelessly, consequences are going to be very dangerous,” she added.

The NBT report claimed that at least 28 patients admitted at Agra’s SN Medical College (SNMC) died within 48 hours of their admission.

Interestingly, Agra DM PN Singh has reportedly sent a notice to Priyanka Gandhi asking her to issue a corrigendum within 24 hours for spreading ‘rumours’ through her tweets. Referring to it, UP Congress chief Ajay Kumar Lallu tweeted that “UP CM is afraid of Priyanka Gandhi”.
