A day after thousands of migrants gathered in Bandra, Mumbai in desperate attempt to reach their native places, Congress leader, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra attacked the Modi government for failing to help migrants.

In a series of tweets, Priyanka Gandhi, on Wednesday morning questioned the Modi government.

She said, “Workers are the backbone of the country. For God sake, Modi Ji please help migrant workers”.

Asking why was booking during the lockdown allowed, Priyanka said workers were feeling insecure in the city. They were running out of rations. In these circumstances, the government should have made arrangements for their return.

Meanwhile, amid the blame-game between Maharashtra government and the Modi government, it has come to the light that the workers, demanding a special train in Bandra station gathered after a circular from Secunderabad railway division was circulated through WhatsApp. Senior journalist Rajdeep Sardesai has tweeted a copy of the circular:

It is worth recalling here that after Modi government has announced lockdown for the first time on March 24, in a similar situation, lakhs of workers had gathered near Delhi-UP border while feeling the city.

Finally, after two days of blame-game UP government and the AAP government, in a joint operation arranged special buses for the migrants to ferry them to their respective places.
