Punjab School Education Board postpones Class 10, 12 annual examinations   

With Punjab witnessing a surge in Coronavirus cases in the past few weeks, the state education board has postponed the Class 10 and 12 annual Board Examinations for a month

In the wake of an alarming surge in Coronavirus cases in Punjab, the state education board has postponed the Class X and XII annual Board Examinations 2021 for a month.

According to an official of Punjab School Education Board (PSEB), Mohali, Class X exams that were scheduled to begin from April 9, will now be held from May 4 to May 24, 2021. Similarly, the annual Board exams for Class XII will now be conducted from April 20 to May 24, 2021.

Controller of Punjab School Education Board Janak Raj informed that the candidates appearing for the Punjab Board’s Class X and Class XII exams can visit the official website www.pseb.ac.in to check the complete revised schedule. The examinations will be conducted from 10 AM to 2 PM for the duration of 4 hours. Over 6.40 lakh students would be appearing for Punjab Class X, XII Board Exams 2021, he added.


Punjab has reported over 1492 confirmed cases of the infection on March 15, taking the tally to 199573. The state saw 27 deaths on a single day. Jalandhar, Hoshiarpur and Ludhiana have emerged as new COVID hotspots with registration of 372, 238 and 226, cases respectively on Monday.

Taking preventive measures the state government has even imposed night curfew in Ludhiana, Patiala, Hoshiarpur, Jalandhar, Mohali, Fatehgarh Sahib, Nawanshahr and Kapurthala districts.
