Rahul Gandhi: Pragya Singh Thakur’s statement on Godse is the heart of RSS

Former Indian National Congress president and the party’s Member of Parliament from Wayanad, Rahul Gandhi, took a dig at the RSS when asked about his reactions to BJP MP Pragya Singh Thakur calling Nathuram Godse a patriot in the Lok Sabha on November 27. He said Pragya articulated what the RSS thinks and believes in.

Rahul Gandhi said, “That is the heart of the BJP, that is the centre of the BJP, what can I say? That is the heart of the RSS what she is saying. Woh chupaya thori ja sakta hai (That can’t be hidden).”

The BJP, embarrassed by Pragya’s comments, have publicly criticised it and dropped her from parliamentary panel on defence. Pragya is still facing charges as a prime accused in the 2008 Malegaon bomb blasts but the BJP still fielded her in the General Election in 2019 from Bhopal.
