Ranveer feels the powerhouse, the one in a generation actor that he has become today is thanks to the crème de la crème film-makers of India like Sanjay Leela Bhansali (with whom he has collaborated in Ram Leela, Bajirao Mastani and Padmaavat), Rohit Shetty (Simmba, cameo in Sooryavanshi and now Cirkus), Zoya Akhtar (Dil Dhadakne Do, Gully Boy), Kabir Khan (83), Maneesh Sharma (Band Baaja Baarat), among others. He has also been chosen by the maverick visionary S. Shankar to headline the official remake of Anniyan.
Ranveer says, “I am really just in the process of exploring my self as a person. To do different characters and present different films that us as the people can be proud of, I feel duty-bound to entertain people. It's been an amazing 10 years. I have worked with the finest filmmakers who have shaped me, taught me what it means to be an artist. I have learnt so much but I feel hunger. My hunger is insatiable, I want to do more films like 83 that receive this kind of unanimous love.“
Ranveer is riding on love and acclaim for his impeccable portrayal of Kapil Dev in 83 and many feel he will sweep all awards this season. Ranveer wants to be on the path of exploration and experimentation in his next decade in cinema.
He says, “I intent to continue on this path and continue to explore. I am living the dream. I wake up in disbelief everyday till date that I am actor. I still can't get over it and I am grateful for the opportunities. This is till date I say a prayer of gratitude everyday and I recognise and value my opportunities and that I got to play Kapil Dev in the definitive 83 movie. It blows my mind.”
The superstar adds, “I cannot tell you how fulfilling it is to be in a screening of 83 when you see people laughing, crying, standing up to applaud. They have shared an experience together and that is life. Life is a shared experience and that’s what I want to continue to do.”
With 83, Ranveer has established himself as the biggest actor of his generation and has the baton has been passed to him to lead the industry now.
