Some of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) activists on Tuesday indulged in celebratory firing during a Vijay Dashmi function organised by the Sangh in Sitapaur, Uttar Pradesh.

In a video that surfaced on social media, the RSS activists, dressed in their traditional khaki attire and black toupis, are seen brandishing and firing from shotguns, rifles and pistols.

North Sitapur Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Madhuvan Singh said that the police too have come to know of the firing incident through a video on social media. He said the police were trying to identify the accused and would take proper action against them.

The RSS is the parent organisation of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), which is currently ruling in Uttar Pradesh as well as at the Centre.
