Saifuddin Soz urges MEA to facilitate repatriation of Kashmiri students stranded in Kyrgyzstan

Former Union Minister Prof. Saifuddin Soz on Tuesday said he had urged the Ministry of External Affairs to facilitate repatriation of Kashmiri students stranded at Jalalabad and elsewhere in Kyrgyzstan.

In a statement, Soz said that he had also sought support of the administration of J&K UT in this connection.

“I urged the Ministry of External Affairs, Govt. of India, today, to ensure repatriation of students from Jalalabad and elswhere in Kyrgyzstan to Kashmir, as early as possible,” Soz said in the statement.

“I also urged the Govt. of India to take up the matter with the Civil Aviation Ministry in right earnest, as the schedule of flights has continued to remain tight,” he added.


“I further wrote to India’s Ambassador in Kyrgyzstan, Alok Amitabh Dimri to take urgent measures in this connection,” he said, adding, “Meanwhile, I have kept the UT Administration informed with the request that it should also lend support to this proposition.”

“Further, I have kept stranded Kashmiri students informed about the developments, through their group leader,” he said.
