Haryana Pradesh Congress Committee President Kumari Selja has demanded the BJP-JJP government ruling the state should immediately scrap the FIRs registered against more than 10,000 farmers in Haryana and release the arrested farmers without any delay.

She also termed the points mentioned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his "Mann Ki Baat" delivered on Sunday about anti-agricultural laws as ‘hollow’. Selja added that the condition laid by the Union Home Minister, Amit Shah, for talks with the farmers clearly shows that the intention of BJP government at the Centre is not good.

Selja, in a statement, said that the government had earlier committed atrocities on the farmers, agitating against the agricultural laws. Now FIRs has been lodged against the same farmers. The BJP government at the Center and the BJP-JJP government of the state are trying to crush the farmers who are demanding their right, she said.

Kumari Selja alleged that Prime Minister Modi was only concerned about his capitalist friends rather than the farmers. "To benefit his friends, the Prime Minister has sacrificed the interests of farmers by implementing the anti-agricultural laws," she said.
