A frustrated litigant yelled Sunny Deol’s iconic “tareekh par tareekh” dialogue while breaking furniture and computers in courtroom number 66 at Delhi’s Karkardooma court on July 17.

ANI reported that Rakesh, who hails from Delhi’s Shashtri Nagar, was annoyed over the delay of his case hearings that had been pending since 2016. Sources in the police told ANI that he smashed the judge’s dais, and was apprehended by the police after staffers raised an alarm.

Rakesh was booked under Sections 186 (voluntarily obstructing any public servant in the discharge of his public functions), 353 (assaulting or using criminal force on any person being a public servant) 427 (mischief) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code, and was remanded to judicial custody by a magistrate.

The iconic dialogue from the movie Damini, was delivered by actor Sunny Deol, after a long and impressive dialogue about how delays in hearing “obstructed his client’s fight for justice”.
