Uttar Pradesh: Teen gang-raped by 3 men, act recorded, one accused caught by villagers, beaten, arrested

A 16-year-old teen was gang-raped by three men in Kaushambi district Uttar Pradesh. The men recorded the crime in their mobile phones which was shared by them widely in the area. One of the accused was caught by the villagers and was almost beaten to death in a paddy field. The whole incident was also captured in mobile cameras.

The accused, Mohammad Nazim was seen in the footage with torn shirt and trying to shield himself form the angry mob. The other two accused, Mohammad Chotka and Badka, brothers are on the run.

According to the teen, she went out to collect fodder in the neighbouring village where the three men attacked her. In her statement to the police she said that she was dragged to an isolated place and then was raped by the three men turn by turn.

"I had gone to an orchard. They attacked me from behind and gagged me. They did horrible things to me. I managed to escape but I fell in the fields," the woman told NDTV.


Two policemen were also been taken off duty after they allegedly misbehaved with girl and her family when she came to file a complaint about the incident. Both the policemen refused to file a complaint and even questioned her about the authenticity of the complaint.

The UP police said that one accused has been arrested. “The search is on for others. The girl has been sent to a hospital for a medical check-up. The investigation is underway.” The police were quoted as saying by news agency ANI.
