With both Congress and BJP announcing their candidates to contest over 90% of seats in the May 12 Karnataka assembly elections, both parties have been dealing with revolts by sitting legislators and scores of aspirants whose names did not figure in the candidates list. While many rejected aspirants are protesting, skipping parties or discussing their next move with their supporters, some of the party leaders denied tickets have been breaking down and crying in full sight of media. Karnataka news channel NEWS9 has faithfully recorded all the tears.

NEWS9 tweeted a video of former BJP MLC Shashil Namoshi breaking down after his name did not feature in BJP's second list of candidates. The ticket that Shashil was aspiring for has been given to the son of another former MLC, said NEWS9.

NEWS9 also tweeted a video of Congress Byadgi MLA Basavaraj Shivanna weeping copiously over being denied a ticket. Congress has announced name of SR Patil from Byadgi constituency, said NEWS9.

Congress Hangal MLA and former state excise minister Manohar Tahsildar was also in tears over being denied ticket. NEWS9 tweeted that the Congress high command had denied ticket to the veteran leader owing to his ill health and age.
