Watch: Man dragged from police van in Uttar Pradesh; lynched to death

In a shocking incident, almost devoid of humanity, a young man was allegedly lynched to death in front of the police in Shamli, Uttar Pradesh.

According to the video, which is going viral on social media, Rajendra Kashyap was arrested by the police on Tuesday, November 27, 2018, for being involved in a drunken brawl in the village on Monday night.

Kashyap, who also goes by the name Tarashpal, was with the police officials in the Dial 100 van, when the vehicle was stopped and he was dragged out by the locals and allegedly beaten to death by the police.

As soon as the video began to go viral, the Shamli SP Ajay Kumar said that they had taken cognizance of the matter. He said that they have suspended the police officials present in the van for negligence of duty and have arrested a few people who were present there.

Kumar also alleged that there is another version to the story that the man was not lynched, but ran away and then fell to his death.
