A slipper was hurled at Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar at a student function in Patna. The sandal missed the CM by a few inches, said the police. The student who claimed to be a part Swarn Sena was protesting against the amendment in reservation. He was allegedly beaten up by JD(U) leaders before police took him into custody.

The Chief Minister along with his senior ministers was present at a public function in Bapu Sabhgar when Chandan Kumar Tiwari threw a slipper at him. As soon as the Bihar CM arrived on the stage to inaugurate the program, a young man named Chandan threw a sandal at him.

The young boy was shouting slogans against reservation. Chandan is a resident of Aurangabad and he claims to be a member of Swarn Sena. Chandan said, “Due to reservation, youth of Bihar are not getting jobs. This all is happening because of Nitish Kumar. Nitish Kumar should end the reservation.”

Earlier several BJP leaders have faced the anger of the people from the upper caste organisations, who have been protesting against the restoration of the provision for immediate arrest under the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act by Parliament, that had been removed by a Supreme Court verdict.

On September 30, Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi and two other MPs of his party, Nityanand Rai and Bhojpuri actor-turned-MP Manoj Tiwari, were shown black flags by Swarna Sena activists at different places in Bihar. The protesters also shouted 'go back' slogans at Modi, Rai and Tiwari.
