Congress candidate from Samsherganj assembly seat in West Bengal’s Murshidabad district, Rezaul Haque, died of COVID-19 in a Kolkata hospital on Wednesday

Congress candidate from Samsherganj assembly seat in West Bengal’s Murshidabad district, Rezaul Haque, died of COVID-19 in a Kolkata hospital on Wednesday.

According to WB Congress activists, Haque who contracted Covid a few days ago was initially admitted to a local hospital but later referred to a hospital in Kolkata after his condition deteriorated.

He died early morning on Wednesday, the health department of West Bengal government said. Samsherganj assembly constituency goes to polls in the seventh phase on April 26.


The West Bengal Congress paid tributes to the Congress candidate on Twitter, “Rezaul Haque, the late Congress candidate from Samshergaj assembly constituency, was attacked by Corona. We are deeply saddened by his untimely demise.”
