YSRCP chief Jagan Mohan Reddy on Thursday was allegedly stabbed by an unidentified person at the Visakhapatnam Airport.

Reddy has reportedly suffered a minor injury on his left arm.

The assailant reportedly came to take a selfie with the YSRCP chief when the latter was waiting at the airport lounge.

The Vizag Airport Police have identified the attacker as J Srinivasa Rao, a native of Dhaniyalapalli village near Amalapuram in East Godavari district.

Rao is a waiter working at the Vizag Airport inner lodge.

He attacked YS Jagan with a sharp cockfight knife and injured his left shoulder.

According to reports, Jagan was administered the basic first aid and he left for Hyderabad as per his schedule.

The alert security personnel stopped him before he could do hurt him further.

Meanwhile, the YSRC supporters gathered at the Visakhapatnam airport and demanded that the assailant and his handlers should be arrested. The party has alleged that the canteen where the attacker was working belongs to a TDP leader.
