Global influencers and artists including Bollywood actress Evelyn Sharma and singers Arjun, Avina Shah, Lisa Mishra, Sonna Rele, Shuba, Jonah Baker and Kiran + Nivi have teamed up to create a charity single in aid of the British Red Cross Global Coronavirus Appeal.

The artists were moved to help the charity following the devastating scenes in India as the country battled a deadly wave of the pandemic. They hope to raise funds to support Red Cross work in countries affected by this recent wave of the virus now sweeping across neighbouring countries, such as Nepal, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and beyond.

The artists urge the public to give what they can to support the Red Cross response.

Bollywood actress Evelyn Sharma says “I’m so honored to be a part of this powerful project and sing along with such talented artists to the hymn for better days ahead. We’ve been apart for way too long and I’m glad we are now on the way to being stronger together."

UK based singer Avina Shah, who created the song and concept says, "It's amazing how the world stood together to fight this deadly virus. It shows that unity does truly exist when we stand together for a goal. I wanted to create a song dedicated to all the families who have suffered during this time and also the frontline workers who have laid down their lives - it's a toast to them and their supreme sacrifice”.

Even during the worst time of the pandemic, the human spirit rose to the occasion and stood for all. I am extremely happy to be supporting the British Red Cross for all the amazing work they are doing and I hope we can get back to normal life soon everywhere in the world."

Richard Blewitt, British Red Cross Executive Director International says: “We’ve been overwhelmed by the public’s generosity in response to our appeal so far, and are grateful for the artists who made this single for help in encouraging further donations.

“People are falling into extremely vulnerable situations around the world, with many struggling to access medical care, food, and water, as well as vital Covid-19 prevention items, like masks and hand sanitiser. Now, we must pull together to make sure no one is left behind, no matter where they are.”

All money raised from the British Red Cross’s Global Coronavirus Appeal will help reach people who are most at risk from this frightening surge of Covid-19.
