Iqbal Ansari, the Babri case plaintiff, on Tuesday alleged that he was attacked by a shooter by the name of Vartika Singh in his house.

"She came to my house and said that she wanted to talk to me after introducing herself. She had a male companion. I let them in and she started discussing issues like triple talaq and Ram temple,” Ansari told reporters in Ayodhya.

“Suddenly, she started hurling allegations at me and blamed me for the delay in the temple construction. She became aggressive and got into a scuffle with me. My security personnel helped me get away and informed the police," he added.

He then lodged the complaint at the Ram Janambhoomi police station.

Vartika Singh was then taken to the Mahila police station in Faizabad where she was being interrogated about the incident.

Officials refused to comment on the incident and the media was not allowed to talk to Vartika Singh who is said to be a national level shooter.

Ansari said that he feared a threat to his life now.

The Supreme Court on Tuesday sought responses from two persons for allegedly threatening senior advocate Rajeev Dhavan for taking up the case on behalf of the Sunni Waqf Board and other Muslim parties in the Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid land dispute matter.

Dhavan had filed contempt petition against two persons, N Shanmugam, a retired education officer, and a Rajasthan resident, Sanjay Kalal Bajrangi, for allegedly threatening him for appearing for Muslim parties.
