Better to sell pakodas than follow Priya Varrier, says BJP leader

According to BJP leader Sanjiv Mishra, youth who melt after watching Priya Varrier’s wink in the video clip from a Malayalam song deserves to sell ‘<i>pakodas</i>’

One-night sensation Malayalam actress Priya Prakash is once again in the news. A leader of BJP Sanjiv Mishra from Hoshangabad in Madhya Pradesh said that in a country, if girl get a lakh of followers by just a wink, then youths of that country are eligible only for selling pakodas (fritters). He further said that he has written a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi asking for a ban on the song as board exams are near.


Earlier to this, a group of Muslim youth from Hyderabad had also asked for a ban on the film accusing it of hurting religious sentiments. The director of Oru Adaar Love, Omar Lulu said that there is nothing in the song that is controversial.

18-year-old Priya Prakash Varrier lives in Thrissur, Kerala. She is pursuing B Com first year from Vimla College in Thrissur. She will be debuting in the Malyalam film, Oru Adaar Love which is slated for a release on 3rd of March 2018. The film is a romantic comedy based on school romance. She is playing a role of a student in her debut film. The song, which has made her famous all over the country via memes based on her wink sequence, is featured in the movie.
