Senior Congress leader from Jammu and Kashmir, Salman Nizami, has received a life-threatening e-mail for being on the forefront of the ongoing protests against cow-vigilantism and anti-lynching movement in the country.

The e-mail that has purportedly been sent by Prashant Arora threatens Nizami to stop the campaign and “start chanting Modi Modi” if he wanted to live in India.

Earlier, Nizami was issued a defamation notice for being critical of UP’s new Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Twitter on March 25.

On Saturday, he said on twitter that his protest against cow-vigilantism and mob lynching will continue and he was ready to make any sacrifice for it.

“I am not going to back down or be intimidated by such threats,” he told National Herald resolutely.

“What will you achieve by staging these protests, Hindu Rashtra is soon going to be a reality under Modi sarkaar. As and when you come across, you will also get lynched. Stop this lynch protest drama. Hail Modi if you want to live in India. Bharat Matai ki jai (hail mother India). If you have the guts, send me your (contact) number,” reads the threatening e-mail, which targeted Nizami’s religious identity.

Expressing their solidarity, many people have come forward and extended support to the Congress leader.
