WATCH | Rahul Gandhi: ‘IAF defends the country, PM Modi has snatched ₹30,000 crore from it’
Describing Jharkhand as the ‘garh’ (stronghold) of unemployment, the Congress president said: “This state has the most number of unemployed youth, this is what the BJP has done to the state.”

Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Saturday renewed his attacks on Prime Minister Narendra Modi over controversial Rafale deal . He said the Indian Air Force defends the country, but PM Modi "snatched" ₹30,000 crore from the force and wrongfully gave it to Anil Ambani.
Speaking at the party's Parivartan Ulgulan Maha Rally at the Morabadi Ground in Jharkhand, Rahul Gandhi again slammed the ruling BJP and PM Modi, alleging "corruption" in the Rafale deal.
"Vaayu Sena desh ki raksha karti hain aur hamare PM use chori karti hain (The IAF defends our country but the PM has snatched money from the force)," he said.
Rahul Gandhi alleged the prime minister had waived ₹3.5 lakh crore loan of industrialists but not for farmers, students and shopkeepers.
The Congress president said if his party is voted to power, it will give minimum guarantee income. The money will be transferred directly to the accounts of the poor, he said.
“I am confident that be it Congress leaders, or leaders of the alliance, we are a team and promise to change and the develop the state of Jharkhand,” said Rahul Gandhi in Ranchi.
“Congress had introduced the land acquisition bill in 2013 for that stated that farmers need to be consulted before their land is acquired, and they could only acquire it only when 80 percent of the farmers agree to it”, said Rahul Gandhi and added, “However, as soon as the Modi government came to power at the Centre, several times in the Parliament they tried to turn down the bill but Congress kept its foot down for the sake of farmers. When they couldn’t make the move successful at the Centre, they asked their state governments to work in this direction.”
Describing Jharkhand as the ‘garh’ (stronghold) of unemployment, he further said: “This state has the most number of unemployed youth, this is what the BJP has done to the state.”
