A woman and a man who were riding a motorcycle were stopped in West Delhi’s Mayapuri on Tuesday as both were not wearing helmets. A video surfaced immediately after showing the woman reacting rather violently and pushing the policeman.

According to the report by ANI, the policemen said that the two were drunk although they tried to use the death of a relative as an excuse to get away with it.

The man tried to escape on his vehicle following the altercation, but the police took away the keys, putting a brake on their plans.

The incident which took place at around 6.30 pm, resulted in a traffic jam which blocked the movement of the accused, following which the two started arguing with the passers-by too, asking them to make way.

A case was registered after the traffic policeman filed a complaint. They were subsequently arrested the same night. The people involved have been identified as Madhuri and Anil Pandey.
