Actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui says one of the main reason for him to be part of his upcoming film Mom was the opportunity to share screen space with Sridevi.

"When I was approached for the film, I just couldn't refuse as it was an opportunity to act with Sridevi," Nawazuddin said in a statement. He tweeted the poster of this upcoming thriller, in which he looks intimidating and unrecognisable.

Producer Ekta Kapoor says no matter how much the "intellectuals" look down upon the daily soaps, small screen has done more for women empowerment than movies.

"TV has done way more for women empowerment than any film has. It has created an industry that is by, for and about women. It has put female characters on front. You cannot have a problem if the antagonist and protagonist is a woman," said Ekta.

Her shows like Hum Paanch chronicled five oddball sisters taking up challenges and emerging victorious, followed by the immensely popular Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, Kahani Ghar Ghar Ki and Kasauti Zindagi Kay which showed women participating in household decisions.

Actor Ayushmann Khurrana says since actors are more popular in India, they are often chosen to front concerts and shows instead of singers. Recently, Sonakshi Sinha got into a Twitter spat with singer Armaan Malik, who opposed the idea of actors singing and performing at shows and in films.

It began when reports emerged that Sonakshi, would be the opening act at Justin Bieber's India gig, which was later denied by the actress.

Ayushmann, who is both a singer and actor, says culturally Indians are tuned in a way that they prefer actors over singers.
