Veteran journalist Vinod Dua passes away

Well-known journalist Vinod Dua passed away on Saturday due to long ailment after COVID-19 infection. His daughter confirmed his demise in a heart-felt Instagram story. He was 67

Veteran journalist Vinod Dua passed away on Saturday after due to a long ailment post COVID-19 infection. His daughter Mallika Dua confirmed it in an Instagram story. He is survived by two daughters: actor Mallika Dua and Bakul Dua who is a psychologist.

Both his wife Padmavati Dua and he were infected with COVID-19 and hospitalised during the second wave of the pandemic. His wife passed away in June. He himself had been struggling with health issues since then.

A pioneer in Hindi journalism in many ways, Vinod Dua was much liked by his colleagues and fellow journalists for his mild and polite manners. He worked with Doordarshan, NDTV and many other organisations. His programme on food- 'Zaika India Ka' was extremely popular. He was representative of a sensible, analytical and objective journalism on television and earned respect and admiration for it.

More recently, he became popular with his political commentary and analysis on digital media platforms such as The Wire and HW News. His command over both Hindi and English and soft conversational style of hosting a TV show were much loved by audience and colleagues alike.

As per the Instagram story by his daughter, the cremation would be held at the Lodhi crematorium in the capital on Sunday at noon.
